August 18 - The Sinotrans Sarens joint venture has completed the transportation and load-out of 55 piperack modules (PAR) and pre-assembled units (PAU) destined for the Yamal LNG project, Russia.
Each of the modules weighed between 90 and 4,950 tonnes, with minimum dimensions of 20 m x 10 m x 9 m and maximum dimensions of 43 m x 33 m x 45 m.
Sarens' clients PJOE, Qingdao McDermott Wuchuan (QMW), and China Petroleum Offshore Engineering Company (CPOE) were responsible for part of the construction and mobilisation work on the project. In turn, they contracted Sarens to transport the modules from their fabrication area to the quayside for the load-out operations across three different project sites in China.
The load-out operations required 278 axle lines of self-propelled modular transporters (SPMT) and nine power packs.
