Scandinavian Auto Logistics and Port Esbjerg will develop a ro-ro terminal to handle cars, heavy-duty trailers, containers, as well as high and heavy cargoes.
Scandinavian Auto Logistics is majority owned by ro-ro specialist and logistics group Grimaldi. Henrik Otto Jensen, ceo Scandinavian Auto Logistics, said that the flexible multi terminal will be prepared for many of the group’s vessels. Staging areas will be located directly at the ramps, while the storage areas will be located less than 100 m from the quayside.
The ceo of Port Esbjerg, Dennis Jul Pedersen, said that the investments in the terminal enhance the port’s capacity and provide access to the vast route network of the Grimaldi Lines. This allows for transport of modular goods from the hinterland to three continents, representing some of the fastest growing markets in the world
