April 28 - The Peters & May Group has transported Whitbread Farr 58 ft (17.7 m) yacht, Maiden, from Port Victoria, Seychelles to Southampton, UK on board RollDock Sky.
According to Peters & May, the yacht was abandoned in Seychelles and needed to be transported to Hamble Yachts Services (HYS) in the UK for an extensive refit.
Peters & May Yacht Racing Logistics utilised RollDock Sky, a vessel that Peters & May Commercial chartered for other cargo shipments from Asia to Europe.
Craig Stanbury, global yacht racing logistics director at Peters & May, commented: "Due to her location and size it was a challenge to find an efficient solution for the cradling and shipment of Maiden."
The yacht was lifted on board RollDock's vessel and transported 9,000 miles (14,484 km) to the Port of Southampton, where the yacht was discharged directly on to the water.
