March 13 - A second regular service between the Belgian Port of Ghent and Guinea has been launched by Ghent-based Lalemant and the French African Maritime Agencies Guinea.
Called the Kamsar Express breakbulk line, the semi-regular line will sail every four to five weeks and offer a direct connection between the ports of Ghent and Kamsar, Guinea.
Conventional goods, project cargo and containers are the main items that the service will carry according to the port authority.
Lalemant has taken a short-term time charter of BBC Scotland to start the service, which is fitted with two cranes each with a lift capacity of 80 tonnes. The loading quay at Stukwerkers in the Ghent Grootdok will be the main loading point, but other ports can be called on inducement.
