Flinders Port Holdings will take delivery of a Konecranes Gottwald Model 6 mobile harbour crane at its facilities in Port Adelaide, Australia during August.
The G HMK 6407 two-rope variant has a working radius of 51 m and a maximum lifting capacity of 100 tonnes. It will be used by Flinders Logistics, which provides stevedoring services tailored towards Australia’s mineral resources and oil and gas sectors.
Since 2011, Flinders Logistics has been operating a 100-tonne capacity Konecranes Gottwald mobile harbour crane to load bulk cargo vessels with mineral products and project cargo.
The new unit will support these operations but will mainly be used to load mineral concentrate, which will be tipped into the ship’s hold from special low-profile bulk containers lifted by a rotating spreader unit attached to the crane.
