BBC Chartering’s multipurpose vessel BBC Citrine arrived at the port of Waterford in Ireland to deliver a shipment of wind turbine blades, manufactured by Vestas, for the Cushaling wind farm.
The project, managed by renewable energy company Statkraft, saw wind turbine blades measuring 80 m long discharged at the port. According to the port of Waterford, they were the longest blades ever to be imported to Ireland.
The project called upon the expertise of Celtic Shipping Agencies, haulier Collett & Sons, stevedores Southeast Port Services, as well as port staff, including marine, tug and mooring operatives, pilots and agents.
A second shipment of tower sections is expected to arrive at the port later this week.
