Tower sections for Finland’s Sandbacka wind farm have arrived at Silverstone Port, an extension of the port of Kokkola.
The cargo was delivered by the motor vessel Caribbean Harmony, with Silvasti and Rauanheimo assisting the port of Kokkola.
Located in the Uusikaarlepyy and Vöyri areas, there will be 14 wind turbine generators (WTGs) built at the Sandbacka wind farm. Port storage fields, warehouses, fairways and crane capacity have been implemented at the site.
The remaining components will arrive in Kokkola on four further ships, with road transport from the port beginning in November. The port of Kokkola will also provide logistics services for the country’s largest onshore wind farm, which will be built in Lestijärvi.
