Belgium’s Zuidnatie Breakbulk has added two eco-efficient Konecranes Gottwald mobile harbour cranes (MHC) at its terminal in Antwerp.
For empty container handling and heavy loads up to 100 tons (90.7 tonnes), Zuidnatie has opted for a Model 3 GHMK 3405 in the two-rope variant. The crane is equipped with an external power supply for connection to the harbour mains, reducing local exhaust and noise emissions in the terminal. It will be used at the company’s facilities at Quay 624.
For bulk and breakbulk handling at Quay 480, Zuidnatie added a Model 7 in the four-rope variant – a GHMK 7508 B – with a maximum capacity of 125 tons (113.4 tonnes).
Alexandros Stogianidis, director sales Benelux for Konecranes Port Solutions, said: “Konecranes’ electric drives give lower operational costs over the crane’s lifecycle and can deliver even higher efficiency with an external power supply, making them an excellent investment for our customers.”
