December 19 - USA-based Talbert Manufacturing has introduced the 60/65SA spread-axle trailer, designed to accommodate both tri-axle and tandem-axle jeeps.
Featuring 2+2, 3+1 and four axle close coupled configurations, the trailer is able to carry a variety of load options, says Talbert.
With the four close-coupled axles with no gooseneck extension, the trailer offers a 65-ton (59-tonne) capacity rating, while the other two configurations offer a 60-ton (54-tonne) capacity rating.
Talbert claims this versatility saves fuel and alleviates costs associated with additional permitting for maximum return on investment.
The 60/65SA features an optional flip-up gooseneck extension to achieve a 190-inch (4.8-m) swing radius while its removable kingpin stations allow for 120-inch (3-m) and 108-inch (2.7-m) swing radiuses.
The trailer comes standard with a 30 ft x 8 ft (9 m x 2.4 m) deck, with a 22-inch (0.5 m) deck height. Talbert also offers optional deck lengths, types and widths.
The trailer is equipped with Talbert's optional E2Nitro spreader. The E2Nitro uses a combination of hydraulic fluid and nitrogen to equalise axle pressures, providing proportionate weight distribution of each axle grouping.
According to Talbert, this optimises the range of suspension movement, which minimises stress and provides a smooth ride.
