German port service provider Mukran Port Terminals and Blue Water BREB have signed a partnership agreement that will see the latter become a shareholder of the Sassnitz-based company.
Blue Water BREB - Blue Water Shipping's joint venture with Bremer Reederei E&B (BREB) - was formed in January 2017, as HLPFI reported here, with the main focus on servicing the wind energy industry in Germany.
According to Per Jensen, managing director of Blue Water BREB and global director port service division, the investment is a valuable addition to Blue Water’s network on the German Baltic Sea.
Arne Ehlers, managing director of Blue Water BREB and managing director of BREB, adds: "After a very positive start in Cuxhaven and several years of experience in Mukran as a port agent as BREB, it was a logical consequence for us to make a clear commitment to the location and engage on the terminal side as well."
For the port of Mukran, located on Germany's Rügen Island, the strategic step develops its multipurpose terminal activities, “above all in the areas of project business, logistics and transport as well as agency activities”, says Harm Sievers, Mukran Port Terminals managing director.
