May 25 - Celebrating 40 years in Asia, Logwin says it has experienced strong growth and today is operational in almost 60 locations in eleven Asian countries.
Whilst textiles remain an important sector in Asia, Tomas Sonntag, managing director for Region Far East Asia atLogwin's business segment Air + Ocean says that today the company has a broad base, transporting heavy machinery as naturally as automotive components, smartphones and garments.
To match the continuous economic growth seen in Asia, Logwin has steadily expanded its network of locations over the last 40 years. A single location has turned into 57 and a handful of employees have grown to over 1,000. The logistics company today operates its own locations in China, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam in addition to Hong Kong. In Malaysia, for example, Logwin will be celebrating its 35th anniversary this year.
Logwin opened its first offices in the Chinese cities of Dalian and Shanghai exactly 20 years ago. Since then Logwin has continued to expand its network of locations. The company opened three new offices and extended an existing one in 2011.
"The Chinese market will continue to be very attractive for us and for our customers in the coming years," says Sonntag. "That's why we intend continuing to grow there in future." There are plans to expand the existing network with nine additional locations by 2015. Logwin is also planning new offices in other Asian countries, too.
