September 19 - Lifting Gear Hire (LGH) has acquired the Aberdeen, Scotland-based division of JD Neuhaus (JDN), a manufacturer of hoists and crane systems for extreme environments.
Germany-headquartered JDN will retain its other UK divisions, including its sales and repair arms, while remaining a LGH supplier.
LGH says the acquisition will enhance its range of JDN products, primarily air-operated hoists; the company is now able to offer air hoists with a lifting capacity of up to 100 tonnes.
The Dyce, Aberdeen facility will become LGH's third site in the UK, alongside Atherton, Manchester and Rainham, London. Four JDN staff members will also join LGH as part of the deal.
Colin Naylor, managing director of LGH, said: "This acquisition will strengthen and deepen our product portfolio, especially in the hoisting category." He added that the deal also gives LGH access to a huge number of lifting units in the 1-60 tonne lifting capacity range.
