May 9 - Keynote speakers for this month's Breakbulk Europe Transportation Conference and Exhibition have been announced.
To be held May 22-24, 2012, at the Antwerp Expo in Antwerp, Belgium, the event will address anticipated industry growth from emerging markets.
A two-day programme features panel and keynote discussions and well as workshops and networking events for those in the heavy lift and breakbulk transportation sector.
Sandro Lepori, global logistics director of Alstom Power will discuss trends and forecasts for the power generation market in the Day 1 Keynote address. Lepori has managed logistics for Alstom (Switzerland)'s power plants worldwide since 2000 and will draw on his 43 years in the transportation business to reveal his forecast for the power generation market. He will also consider the saturation of the engineering, procurement and contracting market segment and its effect on transport and logistics functions, as well as strategies necessary to remain competitive by managing risk.
Day 2's keynote speaker will be Melanie Moore, vice president, environment, Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics. Moore will examine the financial ramifications of new environmental regulations. Management of environmental risks and costs is becoming key requirement for major global supply chain suppliers. She will address the complex environmental regulations set to change the face of shipping in the next decade; the risks and costs for global supply chains; and the type of strategies WWL is implementing to tackle those risks.
It certainly looks like the agenda for Breakbulk Europe 2012 will provide real insight into areas of major growth andHLPFI is looking forward to meeting friends, old and new, in Antwerp later this month.
