August 29 - Cargolux Airlines will introduce two new weekly destinations in Africa over the next six weeks.
A new route from Luxembourg to Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) will start on September 15, with the return flight routed via Johannesburg, South Africa; Nairobi, Kenya; and also serving Stansted in the UK.
The new route from Luxembourg to Douala in Cameroon will begin on October 3, routed via Bamako in Mali, with a direct return to Luxembourg.
Lubumbashi is the DRC's second largest city after the capital Kinshasa and acts as a hub for the country's mining industry, whilst Douala is Cameroon's largest city, home to Central Africa's biggest port and the country's economic and commercial capital.
Cargolux anticipates significant machinery shipments on the new flights.
With the addition of Douala and Lubumbashi, Cargolux will serve 35 destinations on the African continent.
