December 10 - According to Middle Eastern media reports, Abu Dhabi based freighter airline, Maximus Air, has replaced its longstanding president and ceo, Fathi Buhazza.
The troubled airline grounded its fleet of A300 freighters in June 2013 and made a number of redundancies, blaming a significantly changing air cargo market resultant from the economic downturn. Since then, the carrier has relied on its single AN-124 freighter and pair of IL-76's to keep the doors open. Maximus Air has also seen its margins squeezed as it faces ever-increasing competition from the bellyhold capacity of large passenger aircraft operating in the region.
Unconfirmed reports suggest Samir Ramadan has replaced Buhazza on an interim basis.
