September 12 - Danish transport and logistics group, Blue Water Shipping, has appointed Søren Nørgaard Thomsen as its new chief executive officer (ceo), replacing the company's founder and current ceo Kurt Skov, who will soon return to his role as executi
Thomsen joins from shipping line Esvagt, where he held the position of managing director for the last seven years. Previously he was chief operating officer at Svitzer. Prior to that he spent over 20 years within the Maersk organisation, leaving in 2007 when he was managing director of Maersk Ghana.
"With his comprehensive experience, I am sure that Søren can contribute to bringing Blue Water forward in the right direction and pace in close interaction with the rest of our management," says Skov.
"It is impressive what Kurt has built up from scratch and I consider it an honour to be given the possibility of bringing Blue Water to the next level," adds Thomsen.
