Yilport Holding has taken delivery of two Liebherr LHM 600 mobile cranes for its recently acquired terminal in Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala.
As part of the agreement with Liebherr, Yilport has an option for two more LHM 600 machines in 2019.
The first two units were loaded on to Rolldock Shipping’s semi-submersible ro-ro vessel Rolldock Storm at Liebherr’s maritime production facility in Rostock, Germany.
With twin lift capability, the LHM 600 has a lifting capacity of 104 tonnes and a maximum outreach of 58 m.
The Turkish operator took a 55 percent share in Puerto Quetzal earlier this year, as HLPFI reported here. In addition to handling the quay operations, Yilport aims to develop the port’s multipurpose facilities.
