December 7 - The WWL ALS marine operations team has come to the assistance of a distressed vessel in the English Channel.
According to WWL ALS, EMS Majestic was taking on water and this caused the engines to fail. The vessel was recovered and taken to ABP's Port of Southampton in an operation executed by HM Coastguard and other agencies. WWL ALS is currently acting as the ship's agent and operations manager.
WWL ALS' response team is currently in attendance and handling the incident on behalf of the vessel owner's. EMS Majestic has berthed adjacent to the Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL) terminal.
The incident occurred during high seas and strong winds. At this stage the cause of incident remains unknown. The vessel will be investigated and repaired to establish the cause of the incident.
The two crew members that were airlifted to safety by HM Coastguard during the initial response have been safely recovered and will be repatriated to the vessel on its arrival in Southampton.
