July 24 - World Logistics Consulting (WLC) is in the process of delivering a 178-tonne transformer from the Port of Houston to the First Energy substation in Niles, Ohio.
The transformer, which had the dimensions 11.3 m x 3.7 m x 4.45 m, was directly discharged from the vessel Rickmers Singapore onto a rail car.
WLC supervised the unloading and handled the rail transportation to Ohio. In Niles, the company will coordinate the transshipping of the transformer, short distance road haulage and the offloading of the transformer onto its pad.
The company is also currently working on the rail transportation of cargo originating from South Korea and being delivered to Edmonton for the Walterdale bridge replacement project. The cargo consists of approximately 15,000 cu m of steel structures.
