December 17 - Westlink Logistics has completed the initial shipment of 120 rail wagons out of a total consignment of 562 wagons from China to Pilbara, Western Australia for a large mining company.
The wagons, which will carry iron ore, are moving from China's Dalian Port to the rail yard at the client's site in Pilbara. The second shipment is already underway, with a further two scheduled for completion by the end of the first quarter of 2016.
Prior to this contract, Westlink had already delivered around 3,000 iron ore wagons for the same client. The wagons are used to carry iron ore from the mine to the port via railway.
Westlink is responsible for the project's end-to-end logistics, including quarantine and preloading inspections at Dalian Port, shipment of the railcars to Australia, discharge operations at Port Hedland, road transport to the site, and commissioning activities at the final destination.
Westlink is a member of the Project Cargo Network (PCN) in Australia.
