August 7 - US West Coast longshore workers have ratified the three-year contract extension with the Pacific Maritime Association (PMA).
The International Longshore Workers Union (ILWU) confirmed a tally showing 67 percent of members voted in favour of the extension.
As HLPFI reported here, the approved three-year agreement will extend the expiration (of the original contract) to July 1, 2022, and is expected to raise wages, maintain health benefits and increase pensions.
