December 3 - EMS Log has transported two washing towers - each weighing 34 tonnes and measuring 40 m long, 4.4 m wide and 4.6 m high - across Germany from Lake Constance to Hamburg.
Planning the project took five weeks, as the dimensions of the cargo meant that a direct route between origin and destination could not be navigated. The transport took three nights and had to take a detour of more than 400 km. Along the route, railings had to be removed and road works had to be stopped to allow the convoy to pass.
The washing towers are part of a chemical plant being built in Germany.
