February 26 - Wagenborg Nedlift and Wagenborg Towage have handled the transport and installation a 208-tonne temporary bridge in M
Initially the 51 m long temporary bridge was skidded from the quayside onto the Wagenborg Barge 3 using the company's bespoke skidding system. The barge was already prepared with its own skidding track, while the Wagenborg Nedlift team set up skidding tracks underneath the bridge on the quay in Waltrop.
Once the barge had arrived, the tracks were joined together and the bridge was skidded on board. During the skidding operation, the barge was continuously ballasted to maintain the correct level.
The cargo was then shipped downriver to Münster, where a Demag AC 700 and Liebherr LTM 1750 mobile crane were used to lift the bridge onto its foundations.
