May 1 - Independent global freight management and logistics organisation WACO System recently celebrated 40 years as a network during a four-day event in Mauritius.
Ninety delegates from over 50 leading independent forwarders representing 60 different countries welcomed Nigeria-based Creseada International as a new member at the WACO-System's Conference and agm
Delegates heard WACO-System executive director Richard Charles state in a keynote speech that recent research pointed to a range of significant opportunities for independents.
"The future is bright for independent freight forwarders as our network celebrates its fifth decade," he said.
"Opportunities abound, prospects in emerging markets are strong, and our members are perfectly placed to deliver flexible global logistics solutions with local expertise," Charles added.
WACO-System chairman Stephen Knight added: "WACO's founder members had a vision to bring together the best independent freight forwarders, and create a powerful worldwide association delivering global logistics solutions with local expertise.
"We have remained true to our core principles. We are proud of our past and looking forward to our future," he concluded.
