November 4 - Volga Dnepr Airlines has transported a 28-tonne turbine rotor from Houston, USA to Montego Bay, Jamaica for air charter broker, Chapman Freeborn.
The rotor was placed on wooden pallets and loaded on board the Volga-Dnepr IL-76TD-90VD aircraft using a mobile crane and trailer.
The turbine rotor is being used to supply power to the residential sector, hospitals and government facilities in the northern part of Jamaica.
Volga-Dnepr previously transported the rotor on board an AN-124-100 freighter from Montego Bay to Chicago for repairs, a flight which was completed under a contract between Chapman Freeborn and Ruslan International.
