Van der Vlist has invested in a Liebherr LHM-280 mobile harbour crane for its terminal in Moerdijk, the Netherlands.
Van der Vlist has transported parts of the dismantled crane, which has a lifting capacity of 84 tons (76 tonnes), from a factory in Sunderland, UK. The largest section - the undercarriage - weighed 72 tons (65.3 tonnes) and measured 5.49 m in width and 3.5 m high.
According to Van der Vlist the LHM-280 model was chosen for its speed, capacity and outreach, enabling the company to continue to serve clients active in the onshore and offshore wind energy, construction and steel industries.
The crane is expected to be operational before the end of April.
