June 24 - Van der Vlist has moved a 55 tonne milling machine drum from Pennsylvania, USA to Utrecht, the Netherlands.
The company used a partner in the US to transport the 16.9 m long unit from Folcroft, Pennsylvania to Baltimore, Maryland, where it was shipped to Amsterdam. Van der Vlist trucks were on-hand in the Netherlands to complete the final delivery to Utrecht.
The long arm of the milling machine meant that a truck with a short cab was required for the job. At 4.5 m wide and 3.15 m tall, the unit was able to fit on the back of a 5-axle semi-low loader.
