April 13 - Van der Vlist has coordinated the transport of a prefabricated office building from an assembly yard in Moerdijk, the Netherlands to Antwerp.
The two-storey building, which weighed 120 tonnes and had the dimensions 25 m x 7.5 m x 7 m, consisted of 20 separate units that had to be assembled at the manufacturing site, since restrictions at the jobsite meant it could not be constructed in Antwerp.
The building was then transported in two parts, with a mobile crane lifting the first section onto a ten-axle semi low loader for transport to Van der Vlist's terminal facility, where a 500-tonne capacity mobile crane lifted the unit onto a barge.
The truck then returned to load and transport the second building section, before both units were secured onto the barge and shipped to Antwerp for final installation.
