May 3 - Van der Vlist has handled the transportation of a 198-tonne generator house from the Hemcentrale power station to the Port of Amsterdam.
Van der Vlist explained that it was required to carry out extensive preparations - including route surveys and bridge calculations - before receiving the permit needed for the transport.
Adding to the challenges, Van der Vlist was informed one day before the planned move that the height of the generator house had been increased from 2.85 m to 3.8 m, meaning that a new route survey had to be completed that day.
Height restrictions en route meant that the unloading point had to be amended at very short notice in order to complete the transport in the time frame, added Van der Vlist.
