May 19 - UTi Worldwide Inc. has opened a global hub and freight forwarding facility in Houston with special capabilities focused on the energy sector.
"UTi expanded its global energy, mining and projects presence in Houston because we understand the special requirements of oil and gas clients and wanted to be in close proximity to better service the major players in this sector," explained Bruce Hulings, global vice president of energy, mining and projects.
Located in Houston, close to Bush Intercontinental Airport, the new facility was designed with specific emphasis on features suited to oil and gas clients.
"We recognise the unique needs of the Houston market, and built this multipurpose logistics facility which brings together the best of our project logistics, air, ocean and brokerage operations under one roof," said Ed Feitzinger, UTi's executive vice president of global operations.
