November 30 - United European Car Carries (UECC) has taken delivery of its second LNG pure car and truck carrier (PCTC) - Auto Energy - at the NACKS shipyard in Nantong, China.
HLPFI reported in September that UECC had taken delivery of its first LNG-fuelled PCTC, Auto Eco, at the Chinese yard.
Along with its sister vessel, Auto Energy has an overall length of 181 m and a 30 m beam. According to UECC, the vessels are the largest dual-fuel LNG PCTCs ever built.
The ships are capable of carrying 4,000 ceu and 6,000 sq m of high and heavy cargoes, with a maximum cargo weight of 160 tonnes.
Auto Energy's naming ceremony is scheduled to take place in late January 2017.
