Ro-ro operator UECC will establish a direct link between the port of Pasajes, Spain, and the port of Cuxhaven, Germany, effective May 5, 2023.
The vessel, Autostar, will sail on a nine to 10-day rotation from Pasajes via Zeebrugge to Cuxhaven and back via Southampton to Pasajes. Autostar is suitable for loading high, heavy and breakbulk rolling cargoes (up to 82 tonnes), in addition to cars (2,080 RT43 units).
This service boosts UECC’s frequency in the Biscay to three/four sailings per week. “This will further cement our position in the Biscay and UECC is able to offer the market a service second to none in this area,” said Per Christian Mørk, UECC’s chief operating officer.
The transit time from Pasajes to Zeebrugge will be two days; Pasajes to Cuxhaven is three days; Zeebrugge to Cuxhaven one day; and Cuxhaven to Southampton 1.5 days. From Zeebrugge, UECC is able to connect to numerous European ports through its liner trading network serving 22 ports from the Baltic Sea to the Mediterranean Sea.
