July 12 - United European Car Carriers' (UECC) newbuild pure car and truck carrier (PCTC), Auto Eco, has concluded its first sea trial.
The vessel sailed from the NACKS shipyard in June with 140 technical staff on board for a one-week sea trial.
On leaving Shanghai, the ship made its way to the southwest of the Goto Islands, where its navigation and automation systems were tested, as well as its manoeuvrability and speed.
Auto Eco will now undertake its second sea trial, operating purely on liquefied natural gas (LNG). Once this is complete, the ship is scheduled for delivery to UECC on September 30, 2016.
Yesterday, July 11, HLPFI reported that UECC's second dual-fuelled PCTC - Auto Energy - had been launched by the NACKS shipyard in China.
