October 15 - Project shipping company, Tschudi Project Transports has recently successfully completed the shipment of a major consignment from Asia to a construction site in northwest Europe.
Despite being out of gauge, the consignment was moved by container ship throughout the journey, as are many of the company's consignments.
The cargo, a 100 tonne, 217 cu m boiler was loaded at Haiphong, Vietnam by floating crane.
From there it was shipped to Hong Kong where it was again loaded by floating crane for shipping to Rotterdam and Ostend from where it was shipped by road to the final jobsite.
The transit time from Haiphong to delivery on site was 40 days including three transhipments.
Tschudi Project Transport offers ocean transportation for non-containerised cargo including over dimensional and heavy lift cargoes. Geographically, it works globally but has a focus on Eastern Europe, Russia and the CIS.
