August 23 - New Zealand freight forwarder FJ Tytherleigh Logistics has shipped an ocean cruising trimaran from Tan Cang-Cat Lai port, near Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, to Auckland, New Zealand.
The trimaran was secured with a tailor-made wooden support saddle and shrink-wrapped for protection against damages during the journey. The packed trimaran measured 18 m long, 4.8 m wide, and 5.3 m high, with a total weight of 10 tonnes.
The boat was stowed under deck on a platform of eight 40 ft flatrack containers, on OOCL's container vessel, Savannah.
Once the trimaran had arrived in Auckland, FJT coordinated the lifting and discharging operations as well as the final delivery, utilising a lowbed truck to transport the trimaran to Silo Park boat yard, where the boat will be assembled and rigged.
