November 5 - Transafe Logistics has completed the delivery of out-of-gauge components for a mineral processing plant in Karazhal, Kazakhstan.
The consignment - which included 18 breakbulk units and six containers - was shipped from the US port of Houston to St Petersburg, Russia, where the cargo was loaded onto trucks and transported over 3,900 km by road to the Kazakh site.
As well as obtaining Customs clearance, Transafe organised armed escorts for the transport through Russia and Kazakhstan on the request of the client. The Russian logistics provider also undertook extensive preparatory work in order to plan all stages of the project beforehand.
The equipment, which included some units measuring up to 3.94 m wide and 3.88 m high, was delivered to Karazhal Operating, a Global Chemicals Industries affiliate that is currently launching a fully-automated plant producing drilling fluids for the oil and gas industry. The barite processing plant is a joint project with Halliburton.
Transafe Logistics is a member of the WCA Projects network in Russia.
