December 7 - The photos contained in this report give a clear demonstration of the difficulties which faced Trans Himalayan Express, the Nepalese member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) network, during the recent delivery of two transformer unit
The transformers and some other items of equipment around 11 m in length were destined for a 30 MW hydroelectric power project being constructed by KHNP, Korea.
Whilst there is nothing exceptional in the weight of the items, compared to some of the projects other WWPCmembers have handled around the world, the nature of the access road to the job site made this an exceptional project.
Trans Himalayan had to overcoming all kind of obstacles on route, including narrow and steep mountain roads; crossing wild rivers and very rough terrain.
