May 4 - Belgian freight forwarder Transport & Project Logistics (TPL), involved in transport for turnkey projects in the field of oil and gas, power generation, mining and construction industries, has expanded its range of services to the heavy lift marke
This product adds to the two existing added-value services to heavy lift and project cargo clients offered by the company.
A founding member of World Project Group (WPG), Boechout-based TPL has introduced Armor anti-corrosion protection products to its Readybox and industrial mountings products portfolio.
From this year, TPL will represent Armor (technoprimaf) in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxemburg. The company's VCI (volatile corrosion inhibition) product has a range of uses from project shipments to automotive spares. VCI foil or paper can be re-opened and closed after a Customs inspection without loosing its protection. This is important for project shipments that require both short or long-term storage on site.
TPL had already offered value-added products to the heavy lift and project cargo market.
Last year, the forwarder developed Readybox, foldable plywood boxes ideal for containerised cargo, airfreight, spare parts and CKD (completely knocked down) project packing such as pre-mounted case panels that allows clients' staff to make a seaworthy case without external assistance.
In 2009, TPL came to a working arrangement with a specialist industrial mounting and rigging manufacturer to offer industrial mounting, demobilisation and dismantling operations.
