June 5 - More than 200 containers carrying solar panels have been arriving at the Port of Townsville, Australia destined for the Clare Solar Farm in Ayr and the Kidston Solar Project in northwest Townsville.
The solar farm cargo is being imported through the Port of Townsville by Swire Shipping, Australia National Line (ANL), and Mariana Express Lines, as well as the two stevedores Northern Stevedoring Services and Townsville Bulk Storage and Handling (TBSH).
The Clare Solar Farm will generate 100 MW of renewable energy and is expected to be completed towards the end of 2018, while the Kidston Project will generate 50 MW in phase one, and will be fully commissioned by November 2017.
