Time charter rates in the multipurpose shipping sector have marginally increased over the last month, according to the latest data from shipbroker Toepfer Transport.
The average daily time charter rate for a 12,500 dwt/F-type heavy lift vessel was USD6,931 in December 2020, said Toepfer. In January 2021, the rate stood at USD7,005.
This represents a decrease of USD388 on the January 2020 figures, which averaged out at USD7,393. However, it also indicates a steady climb since the slump of USD6,381 in June 2020.
