March 23 - The TII Group has launched the SmartAxle add-on bogie for the Scheuerle-Nicolas EuroCompact, a freely positionable single-axle bogie unit which expands the range of EuroCompact vehicle combinations.
The 2+4 basic combination can be varied by coupling the SmartAxle to the rear and front bogies to create 2+5, 3+4 or 3+5 combinations respectively, which makes it possible to customise the vehicle to match the load and route conditions.
The latest generation of the compact semi-trailer features a double-prismatic boom recess, a range of decks and spacers to create a generous loading area and a number of lashing points. The optional continuous fifth-wheel load adjustment allows easy adaptation of the Scheuerle-Nicolas EuroCompact to accommodate the different truck tractor fifth wheel loads.
According to the group, the Scheuerle-Nicolas EuroCompact is suited for the transport of crushing plants, excavators and other construction machinery as well as transformers and wind turbine components. The vehicle features 65 degrees steering angle on the front pendulum axle dolly and 60 degrees on the rear bogie unit, which enables high levels of manoeuvrability.
The Scheuerle-Nicolas EuroCompact, combined with a MAN TGX 41.640 8x4/4 BBS tractor, will be presenting its more flexible side at the MAN Trucknology Days in Munich, March 23-25.
