September 12 - Ruslan International arranged the transport of a rotor from Chengdu, China to
Before the flight was finalised, Ruslan sent a representative to visit the shipper in China, in order to advise on cargo preparation.
The cargo, which weighed a total of 116.8 tonnes with its cradle and necessary loading equipment, was one of the heaviest loads carried on an AN-124 between China and Europe, and came close to the maximum payload for the aircraft.
At 14.3 m long, 4.5 m wide and 3.9 m high, the rotor was also a close fit for the aircraft's main cargo cabin. Two mobile cranes were required to position the cargo on the loading track so that it could be winched on board the aircraft.
The aircraft flew via Urumqi, China and Aktobe, Kazakhstan.
