June 24 - Two 9-tonne artificial grass machines used to create sustainable sports stadium pitches have arrived in Maastricht, the Netherlands onboard one of Volga-Dnepr Airlines' IL-76TD-90VD freighter aircraft.
The machines were flown from Singapore, where they were being used at the Singapore Sports Hub - the country's new 55,000 capacity national stadium that is set to officially open on June 30, 2014.
The flight was operated by Volga-Dnepr on behalf of Chapman Freeborn Airchartering.
The 9 m long track-laying machines were able to drive into the cargo hold of the IL-76TD-90VD along a ramp extension.
