February 19 - Kuwait's Integrated Logistics Company has transported a 1,600-tonne capacity Terex CC 8800-1 crawler crane over a distance of 1,250 km in order to lift a 771-tonne hydrotreating reactor for the Yanbu Export Refinery in Saudi Arabia.
It took seven days to transport the lattice boom crawler crane and required 67 flatbed, 20 low bed and two hydraulic trailers to complete the move.
Once the crane's components had arrived at the Yanbu Refinery, the Terex CC 8800-1 was equipped with a 78 m main boom and 640-tonne counterweight in order to lift and position the hydro treating reactor, which was 67 m high and had a radius of 3 m.
Integrated Logistics was hired by the Daelim Industrial Company - KSA to handle the lifting operations for this project.
