MP&L offers a variety of shipping services including the chartering of conventional vessels on both a full and part-cargo basis; port assistance in the form of loading and unloading, stowage, lashing and securing cargoes, as well as road transport to and from port and manufacturing centres.
The new joint venture is based in Recco, 20 km south east of Genoa and strengthens Tarros' position in the carriage of heavy and OOG cargoes.
Tarros offer logistics and maritime services throughout the Mediterranean region, carrying containers and general cargo through its multimodal system and also operates its own private multipurpose port terminal in La Spezia and inland depot - Nora Containers - located in S.Stefano Magra, a logistic area close to the port of La Spezia. The company also has a shipping and forwarding subsidiary, Compagnia Marittima di Servizi and an inland transport company, , Carbox, and a large network of shipping agencies covering the main mediterranean countries.
