May 12 - German Albanian Logistics Agency (GALA) - part of the EMS-Fehn-Group - is busy providing services for the impending construction of the 215 km long Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP).
Construction of the multibillion-dollar project is expected to being in the summer and pipes for the new pipeline have been arriving weekly at the Port of Durres in Albania.
GALA is responsible for provided services for the vessels, as well as organising Customs procedures and supporting the companies involved in the discharge and storage of the pipes.
The project will see around 130,000 tonnes of pipers discharged at the East Terminal in Durres. GALA's sister company and operator of the terminal, EMS Albanian Port Operator (EMS APO), will be responsible for unloading the cargo.
In 2012 and 2013, GALA acted as general agent and service contractor for three subcontractors that carried out preparatory geophysical and sea bottom surveys for the TAP project in the Adriatic.
