Swissterminal Group is expanding its intermodal portfolio with a rail connection to Wolfurt in Austria.
Running via the hub Frenkendorf in Switzerland, the service offers three weekly roundtrips to customers.
From Frenkendorf, customers can access a range of frequent, flexible connections to the ports of Rotterdam (Netherlands) and Antwerp (Belgium) as well as to the southern ports of Genoa and La Spezia (both in Italy) and to Neuss (Germany).
Roman Mayer, ceo of Swissterminal, explained: “The introduction of this service makes the Wolfurt rail freight terminal an even more attractive option for the strong export markets in the Vorarlberg area and eastern Switzerland. Through added access to Swissterminal’s network as well as to our partner DP World’s network, customers will benefit from numerous onward transportation options to the north and south of Europe.”
