May 24 - Swiss crane rental and heavy transport company Welti-Furrer Pneukran & Spezialtransport has acquired 18 axle lines of modular trailers, two drop decks, a vessel bridge, a crawler deck and two goosenecks from German trailer manufacturer Goldhofer.
Welti-Furrer has replaced its existing 15 axle lines with 18 new axle lines from Goldhofer, comprising six modules of 2x2, 2x3 and 2x4 THP/MT axle lines.
The order also included two low-profile drop decks with capacities of 80 and 170 tonnes respectively; while the crawler deck had a payload of 120 tonnes.
"With these vehicle combinations, we have completely new transport capabilities to offer our customers," said Alois Mosberger, head of heavy and oversized cargo transportation operations at Welti-Furrer.
"In recent years, the size of items such as generators, stators, transformers and major plant components has constantly increased. With the new Goldhofer modules, we can meet such requirements much more easily. The modules' improved steering geometry has also expanded our operating range."
