August 22 - The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) has denied reports that maritime traffic would be suspended and ensured full security to ships transiting the canal, according to a news item on the Japan Intermational Freight Forwarders Association (JIFFA) webs
JIFFA says that in order to respond to the concerns of the global shipping on the repercussions of the fighting taking
place in Egypt on the maritime traffic in the Suez Canal, Admiral Mohab Mamish, president of the Suez Canal Authority reiterated that the channel is absolutely protected and enjoys the highest level of security.
''This is guaranteed by closer coordination between the SCA, the Egyptian armed forces and national security forces,'' he is reported to have said.
