September 12 - Specialized Rail Transport (SRT) has transported 32 railcar loads of power boilers from a mid-Atlantic port to a jobsite in the northeast USA.
The units arrived on two separate vessels and were discharged directly to railcars, before being secured and transported to the jobsite, on time and damage-free.
SRT also completed two shipments of rotors and generators from the southeast US to a hydroelectric dam in the northwest. Once the first move had been completed, the railcar was held at the destination and reverse routed.
In other news, SRT's vice president of sales and marketing, Kelli Collins, was elected the 2015 president of the Railroad Industry Clearance Association (RICA).
